PHILADELPHIA, PA- Students, teachers, family and friends all gathered at Logan Elementary School's library today to celebrate another successful year of the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) mentoring relationship that has been going on for the sixth year now. Everyone enjoyed a nice afternoon lunch while having a chance to reflect upon the past nine months.
Allaire Spears, the School-Based Match Support Specialist for BBBS, was on hand to recognize each La Salle mentor and Logan matches for completing a year in the program. Each participant received an award congratulating them on their service.
The relationship through the BBBS Organization allowed a La Salle University student to meet with a Logan Elementary student for one hour a week, allowing both sides a chance to break from the rigors of school work. They were able to have fun doing anything from reading, going outside and playing games, drawing, or just talking with each other.
