![]() Richter Earns NSCAA All-Region Third Team Honors
Dec. 11, 2009
PHILADELPHIA - Ryan Richter (Southampton, PA/William Tennent) added another honor to his list for the 2009 season as he was named to the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA) All-Mid Atlantic Region Third Team. Richter's all-region honor comes on the heels of a successful season for the junior. He racked up 21 points on seven goals and seven assists, among the Atlantic 10 leaders, which included a pair of four-point games. Richter was also named the Soccer Six Player of the Year recently, and earned CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District second team honors as well. During the season, he helped lead the Explorers in tripling their win total from 2008. He netted the game-winning goal in a 2-0 shutout of Big East foe Pittsburgh and scored the equalizer with just over a minute to spare to force overtime and the eventual tie with Richmond. He scored two goals that game in earning one of his four-point games. Richter also led the Explorers with three points in a 4-0 rout of Navy in September as the Explorers were the first Atlantic 10 squad this past season to get past the Mids. Richter was named to the all-region team based on a vote of the head coaches that the Explorers faced in the 2009 season.
