Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Inquirer recently announced its 2009 Academic All-Area teams and junior Jill Davis was elected to the Academic All-Area Women’s Lacrosse Team. Her 4.0 grade point average (GPA) marked the highest on the team.

A Fall and Spring Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection, Davis was named to the 2009 A-10 All-Academic Team after boasting her 4.0 GPA.

In early May, Davis was recognized by Phillylacrosse.com as the Wapner, Newman, Wigrizer & Brecher Collegiate Scholar-Athlete of the Week and, in October, she was selected to the Dean’s List.

Davis, the 2007 A-10 Rookie of the Year, finished second on the team in both goals (28) and points (36) during the 2009 campaign. She dished out a career-high eight assists and scored in all but one game. Davis contributed two four-goal performances against Monmouth (3/11) and Lafayette (4/14).

The Academic All-Area Women’s Lacrosse Team is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
