 Explorers Open 2010 Season at Rebel Spring Games
March 9, 2010 Wednesday, March 10 Game 1: Robert Morris 3, La Salle 2 (8 inn.) The Explorers went ahead 2-0 early but dropped a tight contest against Robert Morris that took one extra inning. Ali Shepherd led the Explorer effort with a 3-for-4 showing at the plate, including a single, double and triple along with one RBI. Erica Vile added two hits, including a double, while scoring one of the team's runs. Gina Massaro, Heather Brabazon and Tristan Musho added one hit apiece. Game 2: Wagner 3, La Salle 2 Gina Massaro, Mary Pat Conville and Heather Brabazon contributed a hit each and the Explorers rallied to cut the deficit to one run, but Wagner held on for the 3-2 win in the Explorers' second game of the day. Conville's RBI single scored Massaro in the sixth. Two Seahawk errors contributed to the Explorers' first run of the game in the fourth inning. Tuesday, March 9 Game 1: Butler 3, La Salle 1
Angelina Bisbiglia knocked out a double and registered an RBI to lead the Explorers in the season opener against Butler. Shannon Skomorucha, Mary Pat Conville and Ali Shepherd each added singles in the effort. Laura Beth McCreesh earned the decision in the pitcher's circle, while DJ Guinn came on in the fourth inning in relief and added a hit. Game 2: La Salle 5, Bryant 3 Heather Brabazon and Mary Pat Conville both went 2-for-4 with multiple base hits to lead the Explorers to their first win of the season, a 5-3 decision over Bryant University of the Northeast Conference. Brabazon registered a single and a triple while Conville contributed two doubles and an RBI. Angelina Bisbiglia added a two-RBI double and Erica Vile got on base with two singles including an RBI. DJ Guinn earned the win on the mound with Laura Beth McCreesh pickng up the save. |
