PHILADELPHIA - Junior Gina Massaro was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Massaro, who leads the La Salle pitching staff and also leads offensively, was voted on to the conference team by a vote of the league's head coaches.

Massaro ranks 10th in the conference in batting average as she finished the 2009 campaign with a .330 mark. She had 34 hits in 103 at bats and belted a team-leading seven doubles. She combined her hitting prowess with her pitching, with no better evidence than the Explorers' upset over Saint Louis. She pitched a complete game effort and drove in all three La Salle runs to upset the Billikens 3-2.

Massaro was named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 26th, her first league honor.
