ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University men's and women's swimming team had seven student athletes selected to the 2007-08 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office. For the men, senior Adam Brown, junior Greg Marx and sophomores Timothy Harrison, Adam Olszeski and Aaron Olszeski made the list. On the women's side, junior Andrea Freisleben and senior Stephanie White-Olson earned the accolade. To qualify for the GLIAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Freshmen and first-year transfer students are not eligible for the award. The Flyers had several freshmen honored with Lewis' Brother David Delahanty Student Athlete Awards for Academic Achievement. The Delahanty Award recognizes student athletes who maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher through December 31, 2007. Freshman swimmers earning Delahanty awards include Carrie Borgstede, Allie Henges, Deirdre Mikolajcik and Luke Pavlakovich. |
