KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Six Flyers placed first in seven events as the Lewis University track and field team opened its outdoor season by competing at the Truman State Open on Saturday. Senior Andrew Northrup took first in two events, winning the 1500 (4:10.50) and the 5000 (15:53.98). Sophomore Scott Barnas placed first in the shot put (50-07 ¼), and senior Dan Probst topped the field in the discus throw (151-08). Sophomore Randy Hinton was fastest in the 400 (49.90). For the women, senior Kelle Lederman won the 800 (2:28.67), and freshman Kathryn Hague notched a victory in the 3,000 (11:02.14). The Flyers return to action on Thursday at the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships in Naperville. |
