Kansas Relays Results
EMPORIA, Kan. - Senior Dan Probst nabbed a NCAA provisional in the discus throw, as the Lewis University track and field teams competed at the Kansas Relays and the Benedictine Invitational over the weekend. Probst's throw at the Kansas Relays measured 162-4, good enough for 10th place overall. He was one of six Flyers competing at the relays. At the Benedictine Invitational, several Lewis athletes set season bests as both the men's and women's teams turned in solid efforts. The men finished second among 19 teams, while the women came in fourth. The season best set for the women were by sophomore Ashley Butler, first in the long jump (17-8) and fourth in the 200 (26.18); freshman Maggie Boban, third in the 400 (59.34); sophomore Michelle Ruff, fourth in the 400 (59.52); senior Terran Wertz, first in the 800 (2:15.60); senior Kristin Johnson, fifth in the 800 (2:23.43); and sophomore Christine Kustra, first in the triple jump (36-6 ¾). Season-best performers for the men included sophomore James Knaperek, first in the 400-meter hurdles (56.11), third in the 110-meter hurdles (15.80) and fourth in the 100 (11.20); sophomore Randy Hinton, first in the 200 (22.35); senior Geoff Rozovics, third in the 200 (22.53); senior Brian Pedersen, first in the 400 (49.02); freshman Chris Leibrand, second in the 400 (49.38); senior Alberto Villa, fifth in the 1500 (4:07.42); junior Kevin Dockemeyer, fourth in the steeplechase (10:13.37); and freshman Adam Zaremba, second in the 400-meter hurdles (56.30) and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.95). |
