Junior Tim Bingham homered to start a five-run fifth inning
 
Three Bombs Lift Flyers Over Cardinals

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Three Flyers homered in a 10-1 non-conference victory over North Central College on Tuesday afternoon at Brennan Field.

After ending the first two innings on double plays, the Flyers got on the board first in the third when Brian Clancy singled and scored on an error by the Cardinals' shortstop.

The Flyers added a run in the fourth when senior Bryan Druktenis hit his third home run of the year over the left field wall. Lewis broke it open in the fifth with five runs. Junior Tim Bingham led off the inning with a homer before the next two batters grounded out. Senior Billy Duffy singled and scored on an RBI single by senior Mike Smith. Druktenis added his second RBI of the game with a double just inside the left field line to score Smith. Junior Chris McCall slammed a home run to right field to score Druktenis and bring the Flyers lead to 7-0.

In the sixth Clancy doubled to score Bingham. Clancy advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by freshman Mike Vucsko. Lewis added their final run of the game in the bottom of the seventh. With McCall on second sophomore Ryan McManaman singled to the left fielder who bobbled the ball and allowed McCall to score.

The Cardinals scored their only run of the game in the top of the eighth.

Senior Tim Harmatys started for the Flyers and didn't allow a hit in three innings of work. Senior Adam Stabosz (1-2) came in and earned the win, pitching three innings of three-hit ball. Senior Jon Guzzo, junior Chris Brigham and senior Jon Crettol all pitched an inning. Guzzo struck out the side seventh.

The Flyers improve to 7-6 with the win while North Central falls to 4-5. The Flyers are back in action on Thursday when they host Robert Morris at 2:30 p.m.
