ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Senior pitcher Jon Guzzo has been named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Third Team, the conference office announced today.

Guzzo led the Flyers with a 3.50 ERA and .265 opposing batting average. The senior walked only 14 batters and led the Flyers with 49 strikeouts. He tied for the team lead in victories with four and was second in innings pitched with 61.2.

He had a team-high four complete games, including back to back nine inning victories against Wisconsin-Parkside and Kentucky Wesleyan in mid April. Striking out nine in each contest, Guzzo shutout out the Rangers and surrendered only one run to the Panthers.

The Flyers finished the 2008 season with the most overall victories (18) and conference (11) victories since 2002.
