ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University senior forward Stephan Bolt has been selected to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference second team by a vote of the league's head coaches, and juniors guard Brandon Dagans and forward Jason Genova were named to the All-GLVC third team. Bolt is an All-GLVC selection for a second time in his career. He was named to the league's honorable mention list last season. This year Bolt is one of only three GLVC players to average a double-double in scoring (15.4/game) and rebounding (10.4/game). He ranks third in the GLVC in field goal percentage (.604) and leads his team in rebounds (291) and blocks (24). Bolt this season became the 33rd member of Lewis' 1,000-point career scoring club, and he is one of only three players in the Flyers' Division II history to reach 1,000 career points and 700 rebounds. Bolt's rebound total this season also set a Lewis single-season for the Division II era. He has recorded 14 double-doubles on the season and also set a single-game career high in rebounds (22) on Dec. 29. On Dec. 1, Bolt matched his career in points (28). Bolt's 70 career blocks ranks third on Lewis' all-time list. Dagans made the All-GLVC for a second straight season. He became the 34th member of Lewis' 1,000-point scoring club with a career-best 42-point effort at Indianapolis on Feb. 21. Dagans' 42 points matched a GLVC high for the season and were four shy of the Lewis single-game record. Dagans ranks first on the team in free throw percentage (.822) and steals (37), and he is second in scoring average (16.5), 3-pointers made (33) and assists (67). Genova is an All-GLVC honoree for the first time in his career. A 3-point marksman, Genova ranks fourth in the league in treys made (73). He has moved up second on Lewis' 3-point field goals made list and is closing in on the school's single-season 3-point field goals made record. Genova ranks sixth in the league in scoring average (17.9). He has led the Flyers in scoring in 12 games, reaching 20 or more points in 12 games. Genova set personal bests in points (36) and 3-pointers made (8) in a win at Southern Indiana on Jan. 12. He was named GLVC Player of the Week for a second time in his career on Nov. 12. The Flyers play in the GLVC Championship Tournament semifinals against Saint Joseph's on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. On Tuesday, the Flyers upset top-seeded Northern Kentucky to advance to the semifinals. Lewis will find out on Sunday evening if it has earned an invite to the NCAA tournament. |
