GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Senior Brian Carlson and sophomore Josh Butterfield tied for 25th to help Lewis to a ninth-place showing at the Northern Kentucky Spring Regional Invitational, held Saturday and Sunday at Cherry Blossom Golf Course. Carlson secured the Flyers' low round of the tournament by shooting 70 on the second day. He opened with a 77. Butterfield carded 72-75=147 to tie Carlson in 25th spot among 103 golfers. Freshman Logan Watts (75-73=148) finished tied for 33rd just one stroke behind Carlson and Butterfield. Junior Greg Roderique (77-76=153) tied for 68th, and sophomore Paul Dagys (83-72=155) tied for 77th. The Flyers (301-290=591) finished tied with Bellarmine and Saginaw Valley State for ninth place among 21 teams. The tournament was the Flyers' final tune-up ahead of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, being held April 13-15. |
