KENOSHA, Wis. - Junior Alex Vigansky notched 11 kills with only two errors and hit .643 to help the Flyers defeat Carthage 3-1 (30-24, 30-25, 27-30, 30-24) Tuesday evening in a non-conference road match. Senior Jared Dayton had a team-high 13 kills, five digs and two aces. Junior David Kelnhofer added 10 kills. Sophomore Nathan Klaas had seven kills and three digs, all in game three. Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Player of the Week junior Drew Pickering tallied five kills and two aces. Junior Nick Perakes recorded 11 digs. Lewis out-hit Carthage .310 to .184 but Carthage out-blocked the Flyers 10.0 to 9.0. Juri Velde led Carthage with 16 kills. Andy Patton also reached double-digits with ten. Lewis improves to 10-5 while Carthage falls to 10-8. The Flyers return home on Friday night to face Juniata at 7 p.m. |
