ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University women's volleyball head coach Lorelee Smith has announced Katie Crawford (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South High School) has signed a national letter of intent to attend Lewis University. Crawford, a 5-9 setter, earned three varsity letters during her high school career. She was named one of the top 50 players in Illinois by the Chicago Sun-Times during her senior season in which she helped her team achieve a 30-7 record and an Illinois High School Association Regional Championship. In the classroom she won the IHSA Scholastic Achievement Award and West Suburban Conference Academic Achievement Award. She was also on the honor roll all four years and was named an Illinois State Scholar. Crawford has eight years of club experience, three with Sports Performance Volleyball. The 2007 Flyers won their second straight Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship, advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 and finished with the highest national ranking in the program's history. |
