Bisons Roll Past Hatters 77-53

Final Stats

Lipscomb won their second straight Atlantic Sun game Saturday aginst Stetson. The Bisons had no trouble beating the Hatters. They won 77-53 improving to 10-13 overall, 4-5 in the Atlantic Sun. Stetson dropped to 10-13 overall and 5-4 in the A-Sun.

"It's amazing what happens when you make shots," said head coach Scott Sanderson. "I thought we did a good job of sharing the basketball."

The Bisons jumped out to a 10-2 start over the Hatters and never really looked back. The Bisons were impressive shooting from the field in the first half. They connected on 14-24 (58.3%) from the field including 7-10 from behind the three point line.

LaKory Daniels led the charge in the first half going 5-6 from behind the arc and scoring 17 first half points. Daniels finished with a career high 22 points. He has had nine three pointers in the Bisons last two games.

"It's just one of those nights. It feels really good to let it go, and they all went in," said LaKory Daniels.

"When LaKory makes shots, he is such a good defender, if he makes shots, then he is a whole different player. He played well and our team played well today," said Sanderson.

The Bisons went to the locker room for halftime with an 11 point advantage, 45-34. Lipscomb held Stetson to 12-23 (44.4%) from the field and 3-7 from the three point line (42.9%) in the first half.

The Bisons continued to play extremely well in the second half extending their lead out to 26 points with 5:00 remaining in the game. This was the Bisons largest lead of the game. Lipscomb would roll on to win 77-53.

The Bisons managed to have 3 players score in double figures. Eddie Ard had 11 points. Brandon Brown had 12 points to go along with a team high 6 rebounds. LaKory Daniels had a game high 22 points. Stetson's Garfield Blair led the Hatters with 10 points.

"These last two games have helped us. We have got to continue to play well. We need to win these home games, and try to win some more on the road," said Sanderson.

The Bisons improved to 10-13 on the year and 4-5 in the Atlantic Sun with Saturday's win over Stetson. The Hatters fell to 10-13 on the year and 5-4 in the A-Sun.

Lipscomb's next action comes Thursday, February the 7th against North Florida. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m. CST in Allen Arena.
