Abby Keese hit a home run to propell the Lady Bisons over ETSU.

Lady Bisons earn doubleheader split with 3-2 win over ETSU

April 5, 2008

Final Stats

Sophomore shortstop Abby Keese hit what would prove to be the game-winning home run in the fourth inning to defeat ETSU 3-2 in the second game of their double header at Draper Diamond Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Bisons lost 4-1 in game one.

The Lady Bison combined for seven hits. Sophomore center fielder Lauren Dortwegt and sophomore third baseman Christen Campbell each picked up two hits in three at bats. One of Campbell's hits was a double. Campbell scored one run and added one RBI.

Senior first baseman Heather Collins went one for three.

Senior designated player Jennifer Allsup also drove in a run.

Sophomore Alaina Jacobson, 6-4, pitched all seven innings for the Lady Bisons for the win. She struck out eight batters and only walked one.

"It was frustrating to lose the way we did in game one, but it was great to come back the way we did in game two," said head coach Kristin Peck. "We had some opportunities to do something and we made some big plays."

The Lady Bisons are 16-21, 7-5 in the A-Sun. ETSU slipped to 17-25, 4-8 in the conference.

The Lady Bisons next play Campbell in an A-Sun doubleheader at 2 p.m. Monday at Draper Diamond.
