Game Two

The Lady Bisons ended the regular season at Draper Diamond Wednesday night with a pair of losses to Western Kentucky from the Sunbelt Conference.

Between the games the Lady Bisons honored seniors Kim Jacobson, Sara Simons, Jennifer Allsup and Heather Collins.

Western Kentucky won 6-1 in game one of the doubleheader. The Lady Toppers were led offensively by senior shortstop Kelsey McCauley who went three for four at the plate with two home runs and and three RBI.

All of the Lady Toppers runs were scored off home runs. McCauley and sophomore right fielder Lindsay Antone slammed two dingers over the fence, and junior third baseman Rebecca Horesky added one more home run for a total of five for the Lady Toppers.

Sophomore second baseman Megan Rottler scored the sole run for the Lady Bisons of an RBI single to left field by sophomore right fielder Kellie Sirus.

Junior Ryan Rogge pitched all seven innings for the Lady Toppers to take the win. Kim Jacobson took the loss for the Lady Bisons.

The Lady Bisons lost 5-2 in the nightcap. The Lady Toppers scored three runs off four hits in the top of the third inning to take the lead early, and added two more runs in the top of the fourth inning.

The Lady Bisons fought back in the sixth inning, with senior left fielder Simons and sophomore right fielder Sirus plating two runs.

The Lady Bisons comeback would fall short with junior Jennifer Kempf holding the Lady Bisons scoreless in the seventh inning.

The Lady Bisons fall to 29-24 on the season as they prepare to head to the 2008 Atlantic Sun Tournament at Patricia Wilson Field in DeLand, Fla., as the No.1 seed. Their first game is Thursday, May 8 at 10 a.m. against sixth-seeded Gardner Webb.
