Erik Hernandez was named to the Academic All-Horizon League Indoor Track Team
 
 
Hernandez Earns Academic All-Horizon League Honors

CHICAGO - Erik Hernandez was named to the Academic All-Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Team it was announced by the League office this afternoon. This is the first time in his career he has earned the honor.

A junior thrower, Hernandez holds the indoor school record in the 35-lb. weight throw with a mark of 53-02.45 (16.26m) and ranks second on Loyola's all-time outdoor charts in the shot put with a 54-04.00 (16.56m) mark. Off the field, the West Chicago, Ill., native boasts a 3.82 grade point average as a biology major.

To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.00 scale and have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour credits.

Hernandez and the Ramblers are back at it this weekend when they compete at the Elmhurst Invitational and at the UNC Invite.
