CHICAGO - Majak Kou, who scored 1,233 points in his Loyola University Chicago career, has signed a contract with Evreux in France and has already begun playing with the team. In his first game with Evreux, the athletic, 6-foot-5 guard registered seven points and three rebounds in 21 minutes of action. Evreux is 10-10 this season and its roster features Taron Downey (Wake Forest) and James Mathis (Niagara).

In his illustrious collegiate career, Kou averaged 11.4 points per game, notching a career-best 12.9 ppg as a senior in 2006-07, while shooting 48 percent from the field. A two-time Horizon League All-Defensive Team selection, Kou also added 3.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks in 108 career appearances as a Rambler. Last season, he became the 36th player in Loyola history to notch 1,000 points when he tossed in 30 points at Youngstown State.

Kou becomes the fourth player that played under head coach Jim Whitesell at Loyola to play professionally overseas, joining DaJuan Gouard (Colombia), Blake Schilb (Czech Republic) and Brandon Woods (Germany). Schilb, Kou and Woods all started on last year's Loyola team that went 21-11 overall for the program's most wins since 1984-85.
