Ramblers Place Ninth At Carlton Oaks Invitational

SANTEE, Calif. - Junior Armando Favela fired a 74 this afternoon to help Loyola University Chicago to a ninth-place showing at the Carlton Oaks Invitational. The Ramblers finished the competitive tournament with a 54-hole score of 945, only nine strokes out of seventh place. Point Loma Nazarene rolled to the title with a team score of 889. Freshman Dylan Gergen picked up where he left off in the spring, recording a 231 (76-76-79) to tie for 18th place and lead Loyola, while Favela's final-round 74 today pushed his tournament score to 235 (79-82-74) to tie for 33rd. Sean Collopy, who was playing in his first event as a Rambler, tied for 38th with a 237 (77-76-84), Kevin Emmerich shot a 246 (84-79-83) to place 55th and Thomas Greene carded a 250 (85-85-80) to finish 59th to round out the Loyola lineup. Loyola is back in action March 3-4 when it competes at the Braveheart Classic in Riverside, Calif. Final Team Results |
