Caputo Invitational Men's Final Results

MUNDELEIN, Ill. - Armando Favela captured medalist honors and Thomas Greene tied for second place to help lift Loyola University Chicago to the title at the Caputo Invitational at Pine Meadow Golf Course, which concluded this afternoon. The Ramblers posted a 54-hole score of 912 (304-300-308) to finish 13 strokes ahead of IPFW (925).

Favela, who shot a one-under 71 in yesterday's opening round, carded an even-par 72 today, which was the lowest mark among golfers on a windy day at Pine Meadow. The left-hander finished the tournament with a 220 (71-77-72) to earn medalist honors. Greene fired a three-over 75 today to finish tied for second with a 224 (78-71-75), while Robert Caplin also captured a top-ten showing by tying for 10th with a 234 (80-73-81).

Sean Bidzinski placed 15th with a 236 (77-79-80) and Dylan Gergen finished 31st with a 245 (78-84-83) to round out Loyola's lineup.

Loyola's Gold team, which placed sixth in the eight-team field with a total score of 983 (318-337-328), was led by Kevin Emmerich's 240 (82-80-78), a score which earned him a tie for 24th. Sean Collopy tied for 32nd with a 246 (81-85-80), Aaron Harter placed 34th with a 247 (80-85-82) and Sean Lannon garnered a tie for 36th with a 250 (75-87-88). Matt Novaria tied for 40th with a 253 (86-84-83) in his first tournament appearance as a Rambler.

The Ramblers are back in action this weekend when they compete at the Boilermaker Invitational.
