Loyola Wraps Up Play At Boilermaker Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Loyola University Chicago men's golf team wrapped up play at the competitive Boilermaker Invitational today by capturing 14th place in the squad's final tune-up before the Horizon League Championship. With a team score of 914, the Ramblers finished 14 strokes behind Northern Illinois, while Kent State earned the title with a 22-under-par mark of 842. Junior Sean Bidzinski capped a strong weekend showing by firing a 77 today to finish tied for 46th with a 221 (70-74-77) in a tournament that featured three nationally ranked teams. Fellow junior Armando Favela continued his consistent play by tying for 57th with a 225 (71-78-76) and Kevin Emmerich turned in a solid effort by tying for 69th with a 232 (77-78-77). Thomas Greene recorded a 236 (78-80-78) to tie for 72nd, while Robert Caplin notched a 243 (78-84-81) to place 74th. Loyola is off until the Horizon League Championship, April 28-29 at Shaker Run Golf Course in Lebanon, Ohio. A year ago, the Ramblers placed fourth place and were a mere four strokes shy of second at the League Championship. Final Team Results |
