ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The No. 11 Loyola University Chicago men's volleyball team snapped a two-match losing streak as it rolled past California Baptist, 3-0 on Friday night at the Lewis Invitational. The Ramblers won 30-25, 30-24, 30-28 and improve to 7-6 on the season, while the Lancers fall to 5-6.

The Ramblers took an early lead in the first game and never relinquished it. Loyola out-hit Cal Baptist .344 to .229 in game one as Loyola claimed a 30-25 victory. Game two was much of the same as the Ramblers held the Lancers to a meager .111 hitting percentage. LU took game two 30-24 giving the Ramblers a 2-0 advantage heading into the locker room.

Cal Baptist came out fighting in the third game as the two teams traded points several times. Despite being out-hit .400-.379 and knocking down 16 kills to Cal Baptist's 18 in game three, Loyola pulled out a 30-28 victory.

Ian Anderson led Loyola with 12 kills and four digs, while Nick Lamoureux knocked down 11 kills and hit an impressive .733 on the evening. Kris Berzins poured in nine kills and a pair of digs while George Kamberos and Michael Morice contributed seven kills apiece. Kamberos recorded a career-high nine digs for the Ramblers.

The Lancers were led by Adiel Tiedop who had a match-high 21 kills in 40 attempts.

Loyola battles UC San Diego Saturday, February 23 on the final day of the Lewis Invitational. The match is slated for 5 p.m.
