3.21.08 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Evangels lost to the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison in Sooner Athletic Conference play, Friday, March 21. The Bison defeated the Evangels 21-10. MACU went 12-for-34 on the day, while the Bison had 21 runs off of 21 hits. The Evangels went through six different pitchers in the game. MACU committed two errors on the day, while OBU committed four errors. Both teams were shut-out in the first three inning s of the game, but the Bison struck first in the top of the fourth inning with five runs. The Evangels answered in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run of their own, cutting the lead, 5-1. MACU held OBU scoreless in the top of the fifth inning, while MACU took the lead with a nine run fifth inning, and held a 10-5 lead. However, the Bison answered with a big sixth inning, scoring 13 runs in the top of the sixth inning, taking an 18-10 lead. OBU held MACU to no runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and closed the deal in the top of the seventh inning, scoring three runs, picking up the win. Junior Rocky Polk went 1-for-4 with three RBI's. Senior Matthew Howard finished 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI's. Senior Mike Wilkinson, Senior Jon Reed, Junior Jake Scott, Freshman Alex Webb, and Sophomore T.J. Munch had one RBI a piece. The Evangels fall to 5-19, and 1-15 in the conference. MACU will finish its series with the Bison Saturday, March 22.
