March 24, 2008 ORONO, Maine--You can now register for University of Maine Summer Sports Camps online. Log onto www.GoBlackBears.com and click on camps and clinics to select and register for your favorite camp. This will take you directly to the site where you can register online. University of Maine summer sports camps are Maine's only Division I Summer Sports Camps. Campers will have access to the facilities that UMaine student-athletes use. Baseball coach Steve Trimper will have three weeks of baseball camps. Head coach Cindy Blodgett returns for her second year of camps and will instruct four camps. Head men's basketball coach Ted Woodward will hold two weeks of camp, one starting in late June and the other in late July. Field hockey will have two weeks of camps, one in July and the other in August. Football will have two camps, both of which will be held in late June. There will be three weeks of boy's hockey camp, all three starting in July. Girl's hockey will have one week of camp in July and two in August. There will be two weeks of girl's soccer camp and a coed day camp. Head coach Pat Laughlin will have a boy's soccer camp July 24-27 and there will also host a coed day boy's soccer camp. Softball will have three weeks of camps, all in July. Swim camp will run June 22-26, while diving camp will be June 29 through July 3. You can select from both track and field or cross county camp. Volleyball camp will run July 6-10. The are a pair of All Sports Day Camps that you can choose from as well. Those without access to the internet can register for camps by calling 207-581-CAMP.
