Maine Baseball Recruiting Class Ranked 70th in the Nation

April 15, 2008

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine's 2008 baseball recruiting class has been ranked 70th in the nation and second in the northeast by Perfect Game. The ranking is based on Perfect Game's national player rankings. Maine is the top ranked America East team in the rankings.

Perfect Game currently has over 1,500 players ranked and the rankings are determined on point totals by recruits committed to attend the school. Maine has five recruits ranked and a total of 4,479 points. Boston College, who has the 69th best recruiting class in the nation, has eight recruits in their class, yet is just four points ahead of the Black Bears.

The Black Bears are ranked above many traditional baseball powers. Maine is ranked 66 spots above Vermont, which is the second highest America East team on the list.
