Nine Football Players Named to CAA All-Academic Team

ORONO, Maine - Nine University of Maine football players were named to the 2007 CAA Football Academic All-Conference Team, which was released on Monday afternoon by the league.

The nine Black Bears who were named to the team, include: QB Michael Brusko (So., Zionsville, Pa.), OL Ryan Canary (Jr., Point Pleasant, N.J.), OL Shawn Demaray (Sr./Gr., Livermore Falls, Maine), TB Jermaine Henderson (Fr-r., Batavia, N.Y.), DB Jonathan Calderon (Jr., Jersey City, N.J.), DB Derrick Harris (Fr-r., Bedford, Pa.), P Kash Kiefer (Jr., Bridgeport, W.Va.), DL Jonathan Pirruccello (Jr., Turner, Maine), and LB John Wormuth (Sr., Childs, Pa.).

To be eligible for the CAA All-Academic Team, a player must be a starter or important reserve and have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or better (on a 4.00 scale) for his entire academic career. A transfer is not eligible unless he has completed one (1) full year at his institution. First-year freshmen are not eligible.
