Men's and Women's Track Competes at IC4A and ECAC Championships

BOSTON, Mass. - Five members of the Maine Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams competed in the IC4A and ECAC Championships in Boston, Mass. Skips Edwards was the lone male Black Bear representative while Allyson Howatt, Lindsay Burlock, Vicki Tolton and Stephanie Jette represented Maine on the women's side. The competitions comprised of schools from up and down the Atlantic Coast.

Skip Edwards was the male representative for Maine at the IC4A Championship in the 400m run event. Edwards finished 15th in the preliminary event with a time of 48.25.

Vicki Tolton qualified for the final tomorrow taking the final qualifying spot in the 400m run. She was third in her heat but was the ninth best time overall which qualified her for the final tomorrow. She had a time of 56.37. Lindsay Burlock also competed in the 400m taking fifth in her heat with a time of 56.88. Allyson Howatt took eighth in her 60m dash heat with a time of 7.72. Stephanie Jette took sixth in her 1000m run heat with a time of 2:57.00.

Vicki Tolton will be the lone Black Bear competing tomorrow. The rest of the Track teams will gear up for next week's Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif. It will be the first outdoor track event for either team this year.
