Maine vs. Albany Women's Basketball Game Notes

The University of Maine women's basketball team will play host to Albany on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m., in Alfond Arena. The Black Bears will be seeking their third-straight home win and improve to 4-1 in America East home games this season. The Black Bears enter with a 6-16 overall record and a 3-6 mark in conference play. The Great Danes come in with an 8-14 mark and a 6-3 record in America East action. Fans outside the coverage area can listen to the games live online at www.GoBlackBears.com(.) The Great Danes handed Maine a 78-46 loss in Albany back on Jan. 13, at the SEFCU Arena. The loss snapped Maine's 14-game winning streak over the Great Danes. Tanna Ross led all scorers with a career-high tying 22 points, while Sandra Vaitkute came off the bench to rip down a career-high 11 rebounds. Tanika Thrower pumped in a team-high 17 points for Albany in the win. Maine sophomore guard Amanda Tewksbury is coming off a career-high 25-point performance versus UMBC last Saturday. She has led Maine in scoring in five of the last seven games and is averaging 14.0 points per contest during that span. She leads the team in scoring in conference games at 12.0 points per outing. Brittany Boser leads the team in scoring in all games at 9.9 points per game.
Albany forward Kristin Higy leads the team in scoring at 10.9 points per game.
