The University of Maine women's basketball team returns to Alfond Arena on Wednesday night to play host to Vermont at 7:30 p.m. Tickets still remain for the contest and can be purchased by calling 581-BEAR or toll-free (800) 756-TEAM.

Maine enters the contest with a 7-19 overall record and a 4-9 mark in America East. The Catamounts come in with a 19-7 mark and a 10-3 conference record. The Black Bears currently sit in seventh place in the league, while Vermont holds down second place. If the conference tournament were to start today, both teams would face each other in the quarterfinals for the second-straight season.

Maine has been led in scoring the last three games by Colleen Kilmurray, who is averaging 14.7 points per game during that span. Kilmurray leads the team in rebounding in all games at 5.3 boards per game, which ranks 12th in America East. Senior guard Kris Younan is coming off a strong 13-point performance in last Saturday's contest at Binghamton.

Sophomore forward Brittany Boser leads Maine in scoring at 9.3 points per game, while Younan is handing out a team-best 3.0 assists per outing.

Vermont is led in scoring, rebounding and assists by sophomore forward Courtnay Pilypaitis. Pilypaitis is averaging 16.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.

Maine and Vermont will be meeting for the 72nd time in the series with the Black Bears owning a 46-25 advantage. However, the Catamounts have won six straight in the series, including an 82-62 win in Burlington back on Jan. 26.
