Howatt Wins 200-Meter Dash, Third in 55-Meter Dash at AE Championships

BOSTON, Mass. -- It was a banner day for Allyson Howatt (Frederickton, New Brunswick) at the 2008 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Boston University. Howatt won the 200-meter dash in a school-record time of 24.60 and finished third in the 55-meter dash in school-record 7.22. Maine finished sixth as a team with 54 points. Boston University won the meet with 206.83 points.

Howatt was also part of the 4X400-meter relay team which placed first in a school-record time of 3:50.82. Howatt was joined on the 4X400-meter relay team by Vicki Tolton (Smithers, British Columbia), Lindsay Burlock (Caribou, Maine) and Lital Pilosof (Bat-Yam, Isreal).

Tolton won the 400-meter dash in 57.18 which also set a new school record. Lindsay Burlock was third in the 400-meter dash in 57.42.

Vanessa Letourneau (Fairfield, Maine) was sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:15.76, while Stephanie Jette (Lovell, Maine) placed sixth in the 1,000-meter run in 2:57.00.

The 4X800-meter relay team of Lauren LaRoche (Auburn, Maine), Erin Lawler (Jay, Maine), Jette and Letourneau was sixth in 9:36.49. The distance medley relay team of Jordan Daniel (Farmington, Maine), Tess Perry (Farmington, Maine), Lawler and LaRoche was seventh in 12:34.58.

 

 

Laura Brustolon (Mystic, Conn.) was eighth in the 3,000-meter run in 10:13.89.
