Men's and Women's Track and Field Competes at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania- The University of Maine men's and women's track teams competed at the Penn Relays on Friday. The event featured many of the premier track and field teams in the country.

The University of Maine women's 4x200 meter relay team set a school record Friday at the Penn Relays. The team of Jennifer Pierpont (Saco, Maine), Vicki Tolton (Smithers, British Columbia), Lindsay Burlock (Caribou, Maine) and Allyson Howatt (Fredericton, New Brunswick) ran the relay in a time of 1:40.67, beating the record of 1:42.99 set last year. The team finished 27th out of 46 teams.

The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Matthew Holman (Gardiner, Maine), Dan Voner (Hallowell, Maine), Jeremy Wood (Scituate, Mass.) and Skip Edwards (Portland, Maine) ran in a time of 3:21.73, placing them 55th out of the 75 teams.
