PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The Marist women's crew travelled to Philadelphia for the Dad Vail Regatta this past weekend. The Red Foxes competed against 40 different teams and had some solid showings.

The varsity 8 finished third in their heat, and had to go to the reps race. In order to advance they needed to win the reps race, but Tulsa edged the Red Foxes by one second (6:39 to 6:40).

In the second varsity 8, the Red Foxes took third (6:55) in their heat to advance to the semifinal. They finished fifth in the semifinal.

The freshman 8 finished third in their opening race and advanced to the Saturday semifinal where they took fourth. They beat Delaware and West Virginia but were defeated by St. Joe's, Alabama, and Ohio State.

"I was happy with the way we raced this weekend," Marist Director of Rowing Tom Sanford said. "We continued to improve upon our times, and that is all you can ask for."
