CHICAGO -- Opening its refurbished track and field complex -- Lane Stadium -- and hosting its first meet in nearly 50 years, it may have been DePaul's night, but Marquette stole the show posting eight event winners Wednesday at The DePaul Relays.

"For some of our student-athletes this was the last opportunity to compete for the season," said head coach Bert Rogers. "We had a few of our regional qualifiers competing and others trying to get their qualifying marks. We had some success. It was also really cool to be at a meet and see DePaul's new stadium and be a part of that."

Carrie Schmid captured the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.81m (12-06.00), and Nick Van Deraa won on the men's side at 4.57m (15-00.00). Jessica Ehlen won the women's discus throw at 44.23m (145-01) and the hammer throw at 52.41m (171-11). Jeff Kluge took the men's discs at 50.42m (165-05).

Marquette also won the men's 4x100-meter relay with a time of 41.93 and the women's 4x200-meter relay at 1:46.87. The men's sprint medley defeated DePaul with a time of 3:34.78.

Thursday the Golden Eagles will send a few individuals to compete in the women's 1,500 meters at a meet hosted by North Central. Some throwers will head to Augustana on Friday and Tyler O'Brien will compete in the men's 200 meters at Louisville on Saturday.
