July 24, 2008
BEAVER DAM, Wis. -- Coverage of Marquette golfer Kelly Kretz's quest to win the Wisconsin State Golf Association State Amateur has picked up since Kretz now leads the event going in to Thursday's final round at Old Hickory Golf Club. Dan Manoyan, in today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (see "Links" below), wrote a column about the Marquette vs. Wisconsin golf rivalry. Kretz, who will be entering his sophomore season with the Golden Eagles this fall, is paired with the Badger's Danny Zimmerman and will tee off Thursday at 11:36 a.m. Live scoring is available by clicking here. Kretz is currently six-under par after firing a low-round 69 on Wednesday and leads Zimmerman (-5) by one stroke. Links:
