Madison - The Marquette University men's soccer team earned a 1-1 non-conference draw at Wisconsin Wednesday night, battling through and early deficit and lengthy weather delay.

The Golden Eagles fell behind 1-0 in the opening minutes of the contest before netting the equalizer late in the second half. Overtime was extended due to a 30-minute lightning delay, but neither squad was able to collect the game-winning score.

Sophomore Nick Kay accounted for MU's lone goal, finding the back of the net for the third time this season. UW's Alex Horwath mishandled the ball in front of goal and Kay was there to poke it home at the 72:39 mark.

Kay, who finished the night with six shots (three on goal), is the squad's leading scorer in 2007.

Wisconsin moved ahead 1-0 at the 9:33 mark, heading home a free kick past MU netminder Matt Pyzdrowski. UW would finish the night with 21 total shots, but just five of those were on goal.

Marquette collected 15 shots in the 110 minutes of action, with 12 of those attempts coming after the intermission. MU's offensive attack began to find its groove in the second half, finishing with eight shot attempts in the second stanza alone.

The Golden Eagles open a three-match homestand at 7 p.m. when the squad hosts Georgetown at Valley Fields in BIG EAST action.
