Marquette Opens California Swing With 4-3 Loss To Pacific

Stockton, Calif. - The Marquette University men's tennis team (10-5) opened its three-match swing through California with a tough 4-3 loss to Pacific (5-7-1) Monday evening in non-conference action. The setback snapped a three-match winning streak for the Golden Eagles. Three of MU's five losses this season have been by a 4-3 score. Marquette opened the match sweeping all three doubles matches to claim the valuable point. Senior Brett Binkley and sophomore Mark Rutherford improved to 23-7 overall and 9-3 in dual competition with an 8-4 decision at the No. 1 position. Sophomore Dusan Medan and newcomer Juan-Martin Paredes posted singles victories at the No. 2 and No. 6 positions, respectively.
