The Marquette women's basketball team will play the tail end of its two-game road trip Wednesday, Feb. 13, at No. 16/17 Notre Dame. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT at the Joyce Center. The game will be televised live on College Sports Television (CSTV), with Jonathan Coachman and Debbie Antonelli calling all the action. The game marks the second consecutive national broadcast for MU, third of the season.

The game will also be available to view online on gomarquette.com on a pay per use basis.

At just beyond the half-way point of the season, the Golden Eagles (13-10, 5-5 BIG EAST) sit in three-way tie for seventh place with a 5-5 conference mark. DePaul and Louisville share the same record with six games remaining in the season.

Marquette is coming off a hard-fought loss at Syracuse, 70-67, on Sunday. MU's leading scorer, All-American Krystal Ellis, gave Marquette a team-high 16 points, while senior Svetlana Kovalenko added 13 and freshman Angel Robinson 10. Ellis is currently averaging the third highest point output in the league with 19.8 ppg and sixth in conference play with 17.0 ppg.

The Golden Eagles rallied from being down by as many as 14 points in the second half with a 20-5 run to lead 58-57 with 7:08 remaining the game. The Golden Eagles have played in 10 games that have been decided by five or fewer points, but have only won four of those. Three of those six losses by five or fewer points were against nationally ranked teams. Marquette is 2-4 against top 25 teams.

Winners of its last three straight, Notre Dame (18-5, 6-3) is currently in a tie for fifth place with Syracuse with its 6-3 league mark. Each of its three losses have come at the hands of nationally ranked foes, West Virginia (56-50), DePaul (81-80) and Connecticut (81-64).

All-American Charel Allen leads the Irish with 13.9 ppg. Ashley Barlow and Lindsay Schrader follow with 12.6 and 10.4 ppg, respectively. Collectively, the Irish average the league's third highest scoring average, 78.8 ppg.

The Fighting Irish are coming off a 81-66 win over nationally ranked Pittsburgh last Sunday. Notre Dame suffered a blow Sunday as it has lost Dervereaux Peters, ND's top rookie scorer, to an ACL injury. Prior to the game against Pitt, Peters was averaging 9.0 ppg, 5.6 rpg, along with a team best 45 blocks.

Marquette will encounter the Fighting Irish for the 35th all-time meeting between the two schools in a series that commenced in 1976. Notre Dame holds the advantage in the all-time series 27-7. Marquette came out on top in the twosome's last time out, 71-62, to mark the first time head coach Terri Mitchell defeated the Irish in her 11-year career at Marquette.

The Irish have won the last 15 games when playing at the Joyce Center. MU last won at Notre Dame on Feb. 2, 1980.
