MILWAUKEE - Senior women's soccer player Christy Zwolski earned the highest honor for her hard work on the playing field alongside her dedication inside the classroom as she was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-America First Team.

She is one of four players in the 15-year history of the program to earn first team NSCAA Scholar All-America honors.

"This is a tremendous honor for Christy and Marquette University," said head coach Markus Roeders. "Throughout her career she proved that she could excel at the highest level in the classroom and on the field. For her to be named a First Team All-American is an accomplishment that few garner because it combines academic and athletic excellence. She played a big part in our program's success over her four years, and continues to do well in her physical therapy studies."

Zwolski, an exercise science/pre-physical therapy major, holds a 3.76 grade-point average. She was named to the CoSIDA and ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Five First Team three consecutive seasons.

On the field, Zwolski earned BIG EAST All-Second Team honors for 2007 season while leading Marquette in scoring with 17 points on five goals and seven assists. Zwolski tallied at least one point in seven BIG EAST matches for the season and ranked ninth in the conference in points per game, averaging 0.85.

She also earned Soccer Buzz Great Lakes Region Second Team honors and NSCAA All-Great Lakes Third Team accolades this season.

All-time Zwolski ranks fourth in game-winning goals (8), sixth in goals scored (22) and points per match (.75), tied for seventh in points (59) and 10th in assists (15).
