Men's Basketball Adds Fort Lauderdale Forward Nigel Spikes to Signing Class
April 21, 2008
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University men's basketball head coach Donnie Jones announced today the signing of a National Letter of Intent by Nigel Spikes, a forward out of Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Spikes, 6-foot-10, will join Dillard HS teammate Kore White at Marshall as White inked with the Thundering Herd last week. Spikes averaged 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks as a senior. He and White were starters for the Florida Class 5A state champions at Dillard. "Nigel is a long, athletic face-up player with a tremendous upside," Jones said. "He will be very good for our program as he adds strength and experience." Spikes becomes the fourth player from the Class of 2008 to sign with the Herd, joining Damier Pitts (Guard - Charlotte, N.C.), Shaquille Johnson (Guard - Jacksonville, Fla.) and Kore White (Forward - Fort Lauderdale, Fla.).
