Women's Golf Remains In Ninth Following Second Round Of C-USA Championship

EL PASO, Texas - The Marshall University women's golf team remained in ninth place following the second round of the 2008 Conference USA Championship at Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Texas. Molly Ginger paced the Thundering Herd with a 7-over 79 in round two. The round moved Ginger up into 30th place. Larie Lynch, who led the Herd with a 76 in Monday's opening round, shot an 87 in the second round, dropping to 34th place. Kristina Garrett, Andrea Grier and Whitney Wolejko finished the round ranked 40th, 41st and 42nd, respectively. Tulsa grabbed the lead on Tuesday, shooting a tournament-low 297 on its way to a seven-stroke lead heading into the final round of play on Wednesday. Tulsa holds the advantage over East Carolina, who shot a 305 on Tuesday. Woeri Shin of Tulsa shot a 1-under 71 on Tuesday and is tied with Abby Bools of ECU for the overall lead with a 147.
The teams will wrap up the tournament with 18 holes on Wednesday morning.
