PINEHURST, N.C. - After a four month break, the Thundering Herd women's golf team will return to action, beginning on Sunday with the Pinehurst Challenge.

The tournament, which runs from Sunday through Tuesday, will take place at Pinehurst #8 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Over 20 schools will be participating in the event, including East Carolina, James Madison, Maryland, Memphis, Oregon State, Penn State and South Florida.

Marshall wrapped up its fall season on November 6 with the UAB Fall Beach Bash. The Herd finished 11th in the tournament and were led by Whitney Wolejko's team-best 77.

The highlight of Marshall's fall season was the Lady Herd Fall Classic, which was held at the Guan Golf and Country Club. The Herd finished second in the tournament behind James Madison while Larie Lynch won the individual tournament with a three-day score of 231.

Following the tournament at Pinehurst, Marshall will be off until March 22 when it will travel to Williamsburg, Va. for the First Market Bank Intercollegiate.
