MOREHEAD, Ky. - Marshall Head Coach Shonda Stanton picked up her 300th-career victory after the Herd recorded back-to-back-to-back home runs for the first time in the program's history, defeating Morehead State, 3-1, in game one of Tuesday's nonconference doubleheader at the University Softball Field.

Trailing 1-0, the Herd (20-25) answered with three-straight homers in the top of the fifth inning. Senior Rachel Folden started the onslaught with an inside the park home run. The Baldwin Park, Calif., native roped a shot right field that went under the Eagle's right fielder Brittany Scheer and rolled to the fence. Folden reached third base before the Eagles outfield could get the ball to the infield, and Folden was waived home recording her 14th home run of the season.

Senior Samantha Rodriguez followed with her 10th home run of the season with a solo shot to left field. Sophomore Caitlyn Jackson added to the feat and gave herself some breathing room defensively when cracked her second homer of the season to the left field.

The Herd and Eagles were both held to four hits in the contest. Jackson (10-14) picked up the complete-game victory after allowing only one run in the contest. Kari Quinn (9-4) had a one hitter heading into the fifth inning before the Herd recorded its three runs.

The Eagles jumped on the board in the third inning, scoring its lone run after loading the bases. Shortstop Allie Honkofsky started the inning with a single down the right line. Center fielder Courtney Seiler moved Honfosky to second on a sacrifice bunt, while an Ashley Archer walk preceded another MSU sacrifice bunt from Bri Jones.

With runners in scoring position, the Herd elected to intentionally walk Kari Quinn, to face first baseman Brandy Bucher. Bucher singled to left center scoring Honfosky from third base, and giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

The Herd and Eagles will conclude its nonconference doubleheader at 4 p.m. (ET).
