MONTREAL, Quebec, Canada - Marshall swimmer Michaela Sceli fell short in her attempt to make the Canadian Olympic team on Wednesday.

The senior held her previous eighth-place spot and set another lifetime best in the finals finishing in 1:11.13 and dropping a tenth of a second from her morning time.

Sceli will have another opportunity to make the Olympic team Saturday when she competes in the 200-meter breaststroke.

"Michaela just didn't get out as fast tonight as she did this morning," Marshall head coach Leonard Kraus said. "She still did a fantastic job and it's such a big accomplishment to compete in the Olympic Trials. Hopefully she can get it done Saturday in the 200."
