Freddie Hannie breaks his own school record in the hammer throw

May 17, 2008

NATCHITOCHES - Freddie Hannie set a new McNeese State school record for the hammer throw during Northwestern State's last chance track and field meet on Saturday.

The Cowboy senior went 193-3 to break his own record of 189-4. That won the event at the meet and is now the second longest throw by an athlete in the Southland Conference this season.

Also in the meet, Cowboy freshman Jacob Domingue went 51-7 to finish second in the shot put and Cowgirl sophomore DeAnn Washington tossed the discus 141-0 to finish third in that event.

Next up for Hannie will be the NCAA regional track meet in Fayetteville, AR.
