The McNeese Cowboys road woes continued here tonight as the Cowboys fell by a score of 81-71 to Northwestern State in Southland Conference action.

The Cowboys dropped to 10-13 on the season, 4-7 in Southland Conference action. The Demons improved their record to 12-14, 8-4 in SLC play.

It was as tough as ever on the road for the Cowboys, who are now 1-5 in Southland conference road games this year.

Despite some oppurtunites in the first half, the Cowboys were behind by 12 at the break and struggled the entire game to close the gap.

"We were in pretty good shape in the first half," said Cowboys head coach Dave Simmons, "but we weren't able to convert some things that we normally get."

The Cowboys faught hard the entire way, never letting the game get too far out of hand, but just unable to make enough shots to really get back into it.

The lead got as big as 17 before the Cowboys came back to cut it to 10 near the end of the game.

"We can't worry about anything but the next game right now. We just have to come back on Saturday and get a win against Central Arkansas at the Burton Coliseum."

The Cowboys were led in scoring by John Ford for the second game in a row with a game-high 15 points on the night. Jarvis Bradley and John Pichon each scored 12 points each and freshman Stephan Martin scored 10 as the only other Cowboy in double digits.

Pichon added a game-high nine rebounds and Bradley had eight to lead McNeese in that category.

The Demons were led in scoring by Trey Gilder, who also tied for a game-high with 15 points.

The Cowboys are back in action on Saturday afternoon at Burton Coliseum. McNeese will host Central Arkansas at 3 p.m. in SLC action.
