Peter Colon, a former director of ticket operations for baseball's professional Class AA New Britain (CT) Rock Cats, has been named athletic ticket manager at McNeese State.

McNeese interim athletic director Tommy McClelland made the announcement.

"We are excited to have Peter join our staff. His experience, knowledge and creative thinking will serve us well in the ticket office," McClelland said.

A 1999 graduate of Haverford College in Haverford, PA with a degree in Economics, Colon has had eight years of experience in ticket operations.

He's a native of Brentwood, N.Y., and will be in charge of all tickets sales for all of McNeese's athletic programs.

He began his career in ticket operations in 2000 with the Rock Cats, a farm club of the Minnesota Twins, and that continued until he accepted the position at McNeese. He also served from 2003 to 2007 as the part time director of ticket operations at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain.
