CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas--McNeese State's women's golf team sits in second place behind Lamar after the first two rounds of the 11 team Ed Hicks Nissan Islander Classic. The final round will begin at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

McNeese shot its lowest rounds of the season with a 313 in the first round and 310 in the second round for a 623.. Lamar was the only school to break 310 with a first round 309 and a second round 307 for a team total of 616.

McNeese's Jennifer Herrmann is in second place with a 149, two strokes behind Lamar's Channing Norton. Herrmann shot the tournament's lowest second round with a 74 after shooting a first round 75 for a first day total of 149.

Norton shot the lowest round of the day with a 72 in the first round then followed that wit ha 75 for a 147.

Other Cowgirl finishers have Jacy Reynolds in a tie for 20th place with a 158, Maggie Welch is in a tie for 23rd at 159, Lacy McKinley is tied for 25th at 160 and Randi Fischre is tied for 30th at 161.
