BEAUMONT, TX-- McNeese State's women's golf team remains in sixth place following the second round of the three day Southland Conference Women's Championship at the Beaumont Country Club here Tuesday afternoon. The Cowgirls shot a second round 308, one shot better than its 309 on Monday for a 617.

Texas State continues to lead the tournament by four strokes over Lamar. The Bobcats shot a 300 again today for a tournament total of 600. Lamar shot a 299 Tuesday after a first round 305.

McNeese State's Lacy McKinley remains in a second place tie with UTSA's Laura Baker, Texas State's Sehee Kim and Central Arkansas Nicole Forshner.

McKinley shot a second round of 76, Baker and Forshenr shot a 74 and Kim shot a 73 Tuesday. All four players head into Wednesday's final round with a 148, five shots behind Texas State's Linn Gustafsson. Gustafsson shot a one over par 72 Tuesday after shooting par 71 in the opening round.

Other Cowgirl scores have Jennifer Herrmann and Maggie Welch tied for 21st at 156, Randi Fischer is tied for 25th place with a 157 and Jacy Reynolds is in 40th place with a 174.
