Efimenko Wins Two SLC Matches On The Weekend
 
 
Tennis Team Drops SLC Matches To Texas-Arlington and Texas State

LAKE CHARLES-- McNeese State's women's tennis team dropped both Southland Conference matches this weekend, falling 5-2 to Texas-Arlington Saturday and 6-1 to Texas State Sunday. The losses drop the Cowgirls to 3-7 on the season and 0-4 in conference play.

In the loss to UTA, the Cowgirls fell behind 1-0 after dropping the doubles point. McNeese picked up its two victories in singles play with Maria Frausto defeating Sofya Lifanova 6-3, 7-6, 7-5 at no. 4 and Inga Efimenko defeating Nelli Bodiford 6-0, 6-1 at the no. 6 singles.

In Sunday's loss to Texas State, Efimenko won the Cowgirls' only match of the day with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-6), 11-9 win at no. 6. Efimenko improves to 5-4 on the season with the two victories and has won three of her last five matches and is now 2-2 in Southland Conference play.

McNeese will travel to Louisiana Tech Saturday for a 11 a.m.a match then will face Memephis at 10 a.m. in Natchitoches. The Cowgirls return home Tuesday, March 18 to face Marist in a 2 p.m. match.
